Debra Jennings‐Johnson is responsible for creating and implementing strategies and innovative processes in support of BP’s commitment to include certified, minority, women, veteran and LGBT‐owned businesses in its procurement process. Ms. Jennings‐Johnson drives this effort across BP America, which includes Upstream, Downstream, Lubricants, Alternative Energy and corporate functions. During her tenure, BP America’s Portfolio of diverse business partners has grown to include more than 200 minority‐ and women‐owned suppliers who operate safely, compliantly and reliably, while delivering cost and process efficiencies.
Debra’s leadership has led BP to receive recognition from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council as a Top Corporation for Women‐Owned Businesses and honors from several National Minority Supplier Diversity Council affiliates.
Jennings‐Johnson represents BP as chair of the board of the Women’s Business Development Center Chicago, as a member of the Women Business Enterprise National Council’s Board of Directors where she is 2nd vice chair and as an advisory board member of the National Minority Supplier Development Council. She is actively involved with Chicago United, Chicago Urban League and the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Debra has shared her expertise in presentations and lectures on topics such as Subcontracting Opportunities for MWBEs; Non‐traditional Purchasing, Building Strategic Alliances; Second Tier Purchasing; and Program Strategies for Corporate America.
